Land Management Consultancy
Efficiency and Financial Returns
Land Management Consultancy
A planned approach to land management will ensure that you maximise the potential of your property. After discussing your requirements and your vision for your land in detail, I can produce a bespoke strategy tailored to your specifications. This will outline your options together with the potential time scales and costings.
I will work with you to ensure that you achieve the best financial return and the greatest possible enjoyment from your land whilst attending to the needs of the environment, creating biodiverse habitats and never compromising on conservation.
I am happy to advise on projects both large and small. I have worked with local authorities, The Forestry Commission, The Freshwater Habitats Trust, Berks, Bucks & Oxon Wildlife Trust (BBOWT), Natural England, National Trust and Wild Oxfordshire.
Farm Payment Schemes
I am able to prepare and submit applications on your behalf for the Basic Payment Scheme (BPS), land entitlements and Countryside Stewardship Scheme (CSS). I am also happy to liaise with Natural England and the Rural Payments Agency on your behalf and to handle any inspections and managing schemes.
Working with respected ecologists, I carry out biodiversity and habitat surveys, providing reports and recommendations for habitat improvement where required. I work with a network of professionals who will provide the best advice on the relevant issues including bats, great crested newts and water voles.
Using GPS and the latest mapping software, I am able to survey your land and then prepare accurate maps drawn onto an Ordnance Survey base layer. The maps can be edited to reflect any changes on your estate, including crop rotations and stewardship options.
Tree Risk Assessment
I am an accredited Quantified Tree Risk Assessment (QTRA) practitioner. I can carry out tree risk assessments, record and map trees on your property, and ensure that you comply with your legal duty of care to the public, your visitors and your staff, should a tree fail and cause injury or damage.
As a qualified and licensed drone pilot, I use this new technology to ensure that all my land surveys, even of the most inaccessible, areas are always accurate. Whether it’s to locate livestock, produce proposals for new habitats or just to get an overview view of your land. Drone mapping is a non invasive, fast and cost effective way of assessing your land assets.
The Countryside Stewardship scheme is a specific DEFRA fund available to Farmers and Land Owners. There are many different funding streams available for such diverse projects as woodland creation or historical building restoration grant. I am able to advise and apply for grants on your behalf, from one off payments for new habitat creation to ongoing applications for farming.
